Welcome Reception and Dinner

Meet other attendees at the opening reception and celebrate the beginning of the summer conference at the opening dinner! Reception for First-Time Conference Attendees
Friday, July 2, 2010; 6–6:30 PM

First-time summer conference attendees who register for the opening reception and dinner are invited to attend the cocktail reception thirty minutes before other guests are admitted. As a new attendee, meet other first-time attendees, OCON staff and speakers to gain a comfortable orientation for your conference experience.


Special Group Lunch: Ayn Rand Campus and Other ARI Intellectual Projects: The Latest News!
Saturday, July 3, 2010; 12–1:15 PM

The group lunch on Saturday, July 3, has an added bonus for those who register to attend: ARI’ s vice president of Academic programs, Debi Ghate, will provide attendees with the latest news about the Institute’s newest far-reaching education program: Ayn Rand Campus. She and staff intellectuals will mingle with attendees as well as answer questions from the audience about their work. FREE Casual dinner for campus clubs and community groups and those interested in starting a new group
Saturday, July 3, 2010; 6:15–7:45 PM

We will discuss opportunities for cooperation and promotion as well as ARI’s support to such groups.
• A pizza dinner will be provided. Space may be limited; please RSVP as soon as possible but no later than June 15, 2010.


Presentation: The State of the Ayn Rand Institute (FREE)
Saturday, July 3, 2010; 8–9:30 PM

Dr. Yaron Brook, executive director of ARI, will present an update on the projects of the Institute and describe some of its recent successes—as well as its future goals. No registration is required for this event.


Independence Day Celebration (FREE)
Sunday, July 4, 2010; 6:15–7:15 PM

Join us on July 4th to celebrate the birth of the United States of America. No registration is required for this event. Cash bar will be available.


Presentation: Introduction to Planned Giving (FREE)
Monday, July 5, 2010; 12–1:15 PM

Gift & Estate Planning Manager Kathy Cross presents an introduction to planned giving and ARI’s Atlantis Legacy. Topics include minimizing taxes through charitable giving and providing future support for the Institute while achieving one’s estate planning objectives. Strategies and techniques will be illustrated with real-life examples of legacy gifts arranged by Atlantis Legacy donors, with the donors themselves in attendance at the session. A lunch buffet will be served, compliments of ARI. No RSVP is necessary, and attendance implies no obligation.


ARI Benefactors Dinner (By invitation only)
Monday, July 5, 2010; 6:30–11:30 PM

A dinner will be held to honor ARI donors who contribute annually at the Benefactor level or higher. This special dinner event is by invitation only.


Special Group Lunch: Cultural Outreach Programs
Tuesday, July 6, 2010; 12–1:15 PM

At this lunch event, ARI’s vice president of Cultural programs, Anu Seppala, and her staff will present their major programs, such as Free Books to Teachers and Essay Contests. They will discuss the Ayn Rand Archives' recent achievements and future plans, and describe how ARI’s Publishing department works to promote Ayn Rand titles. A live rock band accompanies your choice of Karaoke singing from a list of classic songs. Cash bar will be available.


Academic Panel (FREE)
Thursday, July 8, 2010; 10:15–11:45 AM

Our panelists will inspire and update you with this discussion of the growing presence of Objectivist scholarship in universities. Especially recommended for students and for those who are interested in the longer-term battle of changing the intellectual climate in America. No registration is required for this event.


Special Lunch for Anthem Foundation Donors (By invitation only)
Thursday, July 8, 2010; 12–1:15 PM

The Anthem Foundation will host a lunch for its donors contributing at the annual level of $1,000-plus (new donors at this level are welcome to join us!). Anthem-supported scholars, board and staff will be on hand to update you about our activities and answer any questions you might have.

Special Group Lunch: ARC Activism Presentation

Interested in learning more about the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights—a division of ARI that advances the moral ideas necessary for a laissez-faire capitalist future?

Have lunch with Elan Journo and Lin Zinser to learn about ARC’s particular mission within ARI’s broader mission, details about a few of our accomplishments of the past year, and specific objectives and plans for the immediate future. Special Lunch for Atlantis Legacy Donors (By invitation only)
Saturday, July 10, 2010; 12–1:15 PM

ARI will host a luncheon exclusively for participants in the Atlantis Legacy, the Institute’s planned giving program, with special guests to be announced. Donors need not be registered for the conference in order to attend. Invitations will be sent to all donors who have included the Institute in their estate plans and informed us that they have done so.


Closing Reception, Dinner and Dance
Saturday, July 10, 2010; 6:30 PM–Midnight

Come ready to dance the night away! Our final evening will begin with a reception and dinner, followed by dancing until midnight.
